I'm in my 40's now but was a percussionist back in the day and played a little of the xylophone but mostly the snare drum in our high school band. And I'm currently homeschooling my 7th and 9th graders and just thought this would be fun for us all. And it has been. It's way better quality than I expected. The stand is great!! It's better and sturdier than any of the stands that I remember having in the past and is probably worth the asking price of a little less than $100 at the time of this review by itself. The cat jumps on it all the time while we're playing and can pull herself up by it and it's never fallen or even wobbled. She's a small cat, but it's very sturdy. The stand and instrument are both excellent quality. The xylophone screws onto the stand and stays very securely and the height adjusts easily to a great span of various heights. The carrying bag, especially the zipper, seems a little cheap and the mallets aren't the best quality either. But for the price this setup can't be beat. It's at least high school band level quality in my opinion for a much better price. Highly recommend it!

The tone of this glockenspiel is lovely. I used my tuning app to check the sound, and I was pleased to see the tone of each bar matched the listed note as it should. My husband and I enjoy playing music together, and it's fun to have a different instrument to throw in the mix to get the bell tones for holiday songs. The stand is sturdy and adjustable, and the bag feels sturdy as well. We've been enjoying it so far - very pleased!

The media could not be loaded. this glockenspiel is perfect for beginners or students. The stand is sturdy. The lower keys have a nice ring, but as you get to the higher keys (high D and up) the resonance becomes diminished. The keys are clearly labelled with the note name and it comes with a zippered carrying case with a shoulder strap and 2 sets of mallets. This is great if you don't want to invest too much money to see of your kid will stick with a musical instrument. Also a great way to introduce piano without spending the money. Piano music will also work with Glockenspiel.
