It's so beautiful and big. That's the reason I bought it, because of how much water it holds. But yes it's super easy to clean. The whistle is very loud. I don't think there is any place you could hide in your house where you wouldn't hear this thing. You would think all tea kettles are loud but they are not. I have a fancy one that we spent 65 dollars on and the whistle seemed to be the perfect loudness and pitch. But It only held like 3 cups of water for tea. Now it sits on display in my house, it's a 20 year old rooster kettle. I thought now it's time to go practical; stainless and shiny and this new kettle is just that but hold a ton of water.
