I normally used the original cold & cough pills (the purple ones) until they changed the formula to this PowerMax variation and they didn't work as well anymore. I decided to try the Cough, Mucus & Congestion one since I didn't want to pay $15 for a 5 dose pack of the original purple ones that I liked. It definitely helped with congestion but I was still coughing quite a bit. I can handle a cough but it's hard doing anything when I'm leaking mucus all the time, so I was happy enough with them. I really hope they bring the original formula back though..

I can remember the Alka-Seltzer commercials that showed the tablets being dropped into a glass. I never wanted to ever try that.

But then a few years ago I got a bad cold. I had to go out myself to get my cold and flu goodies. Fuzzy minded and ready to be home, I decided in the medicine aisle that I would not be taking any type of liquids unless I had to. I was so over the decades of horrible tasting cough syrup that was riddled with the deceit of smelling good. Bubblegum cough syrup absolutely did not remind me of any bubblegum I'd ever gummed.

I started looking at all the cold and flu pills, and seeing as I shouldn't have been out by myself anyway, I came to the absolutely genius conclusion to just get the most powerful looking package because obviously that would obliterate my cold in 20 minutes. Alka-Seltzer was that powerful-looking package.

Now, here I am. Still buying it (not to continue treating the same exact cold I had years ago. That was gone in about 2 to 3 days...which I why I'm still buying it).

If you have high blood pressure, don't use this. It will raise your blood pressure but it works great
