I've had a helluva time finding soft coconut fiber to enrich my Hamsters natural environment. This works G R E A T. They also love rolling in it and it doesn't get too dry OR too wet ! It has amazing absorbency.
I use it for about 1/4 of their enclosure. It works great as a base for the very bottom (to soak up any extra Hamsters nonsense) and when mixing with recycled paper as a burrowing texture. Been using it for the past 2yrs, no problems, only solutions.
I've used it for Rats, Djungarian Hamsters, and Mice.
