I'm a total beginner with no knowledge or experience and this was a fun easy kit to use. My only suggestion is to use a leather glove on one hand if you have one, to prevent poking yourself as a newbie.

I think this is a really fun starter kit. It has everything you need. The projects are cute (I tend to go off script a bit, but I'm happy with what I made). The instructions were pretty good, especially with the link to a YouTube video of it being made, but I wish there was actual verbal instructions about what they were doing and tips for success. Even without that it's pretty easy to get the feel for it and figure it out as you go.

I wish there were one more needle handle. There's 3 sizes and two handles, and I don't like having to switch all the time, so I've gone to only using the biggest for shaping and connecting parts, and smallest for smoothing and details. The other thing that I wish was a bit better is the eyes. They're all meant to be the same size, but aren't very consistent, and not quite as big as they should be to look as cute as the pictures. I also wish they included some liquid glue you could inject into the felt to glue the whiskers in. The eyes could use some glue too if you actually want to play with them, but any would probably do as the eye would cover the glue drop. The whiskers wouldn't and they slide in and out very easily with basic handling, so I'm not sure if they're worth putting in until I find a solution.

Still, a super fun kit. Would make a great gift. I love that they include finger protectors. Good amount of wool and projects for the price. I am quite happy with it overall, and now I'm hooked on felting! ðŸ'‚

Edit: after comparing to other kits, other wool, other eyes, I'm more impressed with this kit. No, it didn't fulfill all my dreams, but it's a great deal, and probably the best you're going to find. I would recommend you get this one

I did decide that this hobby wasn't for me, but that wasn't the fault of the kit or the hobby itself.

The kit came well packed, with all the promised tools and instructions. There seemed to be plenty of wool, the instruments worked well, and the instructions were mostly helpful. I did have a bit of doubt about the size of my original wool ball, for the body shape, as it says to compare the size to the size of the actual picture. No big deal, but that seemed a little 'iffy'.

My first attempt came out looking more like a mouse than a cat, but that's just me.

Other than I just found it wasn't for me, I have no complaints about the kit at all.

Honestly, I'm not one for reading of following instructions, and I was still able to create something adorable. I even gave my felt puppy creation a little party hat to gift to my friend for her birthday. This is an easy hobby to pick up, and the kit makes it even easier.
