So I've been going back and forth between a chest rig and a belt for a while, and at some point, I'll probably get both. But I decided to start with a belt. I've been researching, watching, etc, and everything that the "experts" recommend are around $100 or more. I found this one for $40 on some review websites. They seemed to like it, and after looking at the reviews here as well, I decided to give it a shot.
I'm not an operator. I'm just a slightly overweight dad-bod guy who wanted a way to carry a few extra mags at the range, and maybe have something handy if things go south under our current regime. I don't get to the range a ton, so this thing will probably be hung up 95% of the time. That's why the price was so attractive, and people said it was durable.
It arrived quickly, with a nice note from the owner thanking me for the purchase, and asking to leave a review. That's what small companies do, and I don't mind it at all. I can see some people griping, but c'mon, these guys have to start out somewhere, and word of mouth via review is how they do that.
Of course, like most of you, I was worried about the sizing. I did what the reviews said- take a piece of string, put it around your waist, over your clothes, and measure that. I normally wear size 38 or 40 pants, depending on the brand. Bit of a dad-gut. I ordered the medium. Pull it out of the package, put it on over my pants and shirt, snap the buckle, and guess what? It fit almost perfectly. Pulled back the velcro to tighten each side less than 1/2 an inch each, and boom, perfect. Couldn't be happier about the size.
I ordered a dump pouch from Tactical Tailor, a double-with gap pistol Esstac Kiwi pouch, and an Esstac 556 pouch. All of them fit on great, and felt good while on. Loaded them all up with fully loaded mags and the belt seems to hold just fine- no curling over, with just a slight sag that was fixed by tightening the belt a little more.
I was sufficiently impressed by Tacticon that I ordered their IFAK pouch too, directly from their website because they were still running the 50% off black friday sale in January! For $8, how could you go wrong? if it sucks, I'll give it to the kids to play with.
As far as durabilty, I have no idea. I've only worn it a little bit around the house to see how it rode and if it was comfortable. Yes, it is comfortable, and it rides just fine. Even threw my Safariland holster (paddle) with my P320 in it, and still it rode fine. Except for the noticeable but evenly-distributed weight, you'd almost forget it was on.
I'll update this once I wear it more, take it to the range, weigh it down, and put it through some paces, but as for now, I'm very happy. Will it last as long as something from Blue Force Gear, Crye, or Viking Tactics? Probably not, and I wouldn't expect it too. I mean, I'd hope those other ones are that expensive for a reason. If I were being deployed to Afghanistan or Chi-Raq, I'd get one of those. But for what I want to do, I expect this to hold up fine. And at this price, I'm thinking about buying another to set up for a different weapon load.

Mainly got this for a bump in the night scenario, just in case something happens and I want to have my weapon, flashlight, multitool, and many other items ready to go without searching for them! For the price it will not be as good as your +$100 belts but it is really close! I would buy this if I was looking to beat something up and not break the bank!
Good

I bought this belt since I wanted to build a belt for shooting competitions and other options. I just see other belts costing so much when there are other options that can do the same. I wanted to give this a shot and I was not disappointed.
Well, one thing was of course you want a belt a little bit bigger than what you wear normally. This one was a bit bigger than expected, but I was hoping that the hook n' loop would be longer when trying to adjust. This is minor and I can get some sewn on. The laser cut Molle are pretty tight and might be tricky to get your straps through. However they seem sturdy and I do like that my pouches stay low.
Yes, you get only really one row of a full Molle strip, but you are able to get pouches securely attached. One thing I did like was that I could attach my holster platform through the belt and then lock it in with the hook n' loop. The padding is just right for me. It grips a hold of your clothing and body. Now, I ordered a large thinking it would be a descent size, but it was a bit too big. That's why I have to add more hook n' loop so the inside belt isn't just flapping. I probably would have ordered a medium and it would have been a perfect fit, giving a adjustment as well.
All in all, this is a great belt, sturdy, comfortable and what we like is affordable too. It's just practical and you don't always need to go expensive all the time. Of course, there are features that one might be after like possibly suspender loops, additional rows of Molle, or maybe a bit more lumbar support.
