I was recently diagnosed with having diabetes and my doctor advised me to get a glucose meter. He said that my insurance should cover the cast for the meter and I'd have a copay when I needed the strips. I called my pharmacy and told them the glucose meter that my insurance would provide and inquired about the cost for the strips. I was floored that the specific strips that one used would cost me a $65 monthly copay. I decided I didn't want that so called "free" meter and after doing some research purchased this one. It is accurate and the strips are less than a third of the price of the "free" meter.
Easy decision and I recommend this meter because it is easy to read and it also has a memory of your blood glucose reading and keeps track if you just ate or were fasting before taking the test. I just bring this to the doctor with me and he scrolls thru the memory and it provides all the data he needs.
