The product separates, kind of like oil from fat. Odd, but the water is at the bottom and the white solution rises to the top so you have to shake it a few times. Cotton wipes, not cotton balls, work better if you use it the way they say. Directions say to apply it to a cotton ball or wipe and hold to your lashes for 2-3 seconds then wipe. It does the job but it's such a process. Even the cap is like getting into a bottle of medication. You have to press down and turn or it won't come off. A tad more complicated than it should be but again it works.
