I bought one of these when I was pregnant and the white noise setting helped me sleep so well that I bought a second and third one to use in my kids' room and also to have an extra one charging at all times. The white (or brown?) noise setting is my favorite and now that I have my baby and nurse her in the middle of the night, I love how easy the soft light is to use. It doesn't wake her and I can just feel for the button and turn the light back off and go back to sleep. I wish I had one of these when my other kids were babies! It's great to take to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night as well. I use it like a soft flashlight. It doesn't wake anyone! It also holds a charge for SO long! If I could give it five more stars I would!!

I have about four sound machines in my house and this is one of the favorites! At first, I personally thought the white noise sounded like static and I didn't care for it but my baby loves it. We will use either that or the thunderstorms. For portable sound machines I have this one and one recommended by "taking cara babies" (which I like the sound on. It is very smooth sounding) but this one is preferred by my baby and has a MUCH better battery life. I tend to leave it on for hours by mistake and do this multiple days and it has yet to die on me. I'll throw it on the charger maybe once a week just because I don't want to test my luck and have it die right when I get the baby down for a nap.

Absolutely love this sound machine. Its lightweight and the soft rubber padding helps protect it. I love that it has so many sounds to choose from and a built in light. The best thing about this is its battery life. Ive used it for over 16 hours without needing to charge. I dont go anywhere without it. Ive taken it with me on weekend trips and long car rides. I have used other portable sound machines and this one is by far the best.

I don't know how long it takes for a sound to loop, but you can hear it when it happens. There's a very short moment of quiet. It's most noticable for me on the thunderstorm setting, but on some of the other ones it's much harder to hear. (I like the crackling fire!)
The sound quality isn't great either; if you're used to falling asleep to some 4k video of a river or something, then this will probably be an adjustment.
However, the battery life is long, the button placement is intuitive (even in the dark,) and the fastener is easy to use and secure. The light is also very convenient and I use it more than I expected. It also has a good range of volume; it can be pretty quiet or pretty loud. I like that it's not anchored to one spot on my nightstand... It's easy to move it around my bed for variety, and it's no big deal if it falls in. I'm an adult, but I would definitely recommend it to a parent if they asked.
Overall, this fits my use and lifestyle very well, but it might not be great for every adult. If you're set on using a sound setting where you can hear it loop, it gets pretty annoying pretty fast. If that's not an issue, this is a good device.
