Booklet is full of safety warnings.
Came with no instructions regarding charging and/or changing the battery.
Had to go on Youtube to figure how this works.
Otherwise, it seems ok.
The price was right if this holds up.

I wanted to wait awhile before reviewing this saw, in case something unexpected arose. Well it did. An unexpected quality of performance for such an inexpensive product. It works like an absolute champ. I've used it to prune limbs around my house, cut pipe, and my favorite thing is to throw it inside my solo stove when I go camping. There is always wood lying around and a gas powered chainsaw is too big and clunky. Even my 12" electric chainsaw requires bar oil that is a mess and frankly, too dangerous and not meant to be operated by one hand as this device is. So far its met every test and the fact it's made right here in America is the icing on the cake. Don't let the 12v power rating fool you. It easily cuts through anything I've come up against. You won't be disappointed.

I have another corded reciprocating saw but wanted a cordless model but most I found were very expensive and some didn't come with a battery or charger or case which adds to the price even more. This saw comes with 2 batteries, a charger and a soft case.

I saw the clamping jaw but wasn't clear on how it worked. The problem with most reciprocating saws is that they are hard to control and jump all over the place. Most deal with it by using some sort of plate at the back of the blade that you push up against whatever you are cutting and then pull the trigger and hope to hang on. This clamping jaw works wonderfully to hold the saw to what you are cutting and keeps it aligned. It is removable and snaps into the saw just above the blade. The clamp is actually a inverted V shape on each side of the blade that is spring loaded and is pushed up out of the way as you cut through. The inside of the V has teeth that grip what you are cutting. I think it would work best on something round but it possible could work on something flat like a board. I cut a few branches and it worked fantastic and kept the branches from bouncing around as the blade cut through it. This to me is the star of this saw and I'm surprised they don't highlight it more in the listing.

It looks like the saw uses standard reciprocating saw blades so you can get replacements anywhere, even longer than the 6" blades it comes with.

Another thing which surprised me is that when I opened it up initially I thought the batteries looked familiar. As it turns out this is the same brand of cordless drill that I got recently and the batteries are the same. So not only does this come with 2 batteries but I also have spares to use between the two tools. This has come in very handy for me! For my needs, it works just fine. I live in the country and have used it to cut up thicker branches that get blown down from the trees, I've used it to cut big logs for the firepit too. It takes more effort and "elbow grease" to get through the logs than the branches, obviously, but it does get the job done! I can't seem to get the clamping jaw thing to go on properly most of the time, I find it confusing so I saw away without it lol. I'm glad I got this, it's helped me get things done that normally I would have to ask someone to come help with or have to ask to borrow their chainsaw for. I like that it comes with a case to store it in as well. I have to say, sometimes I feel like my brain is shaking around while using it. It's not the top of the line, most powerful or sharpest thing, but like I said, for the small tasks I need to use it for and for the price, it's handy and sufficient. I was actually very pleasantly surprised at the quality and usefulness of it.
