I've had other similar fountains that ended up having a couple issues making them a pain in the backside. First, his fountain has glass over the solar panels instead of plastic, so I don't have to deal with the oxidation and cracking. Second, the rechargeable battery on this fountain, not only allow it to run into the night, it also eliminates the pulsating and/or complete stoppage that would happen when the sun goes behind clouds. Over all, I'm very happy this fountain and ended up buying another one.

I initially gave this a one-star review. Seemed to have stopped working. It turns out the nozzle I was using had clogged. I unclogged the nozzle (using a pin to clear the holes) and after it had some time in the sun the following day, it was fine.

It would continue to clog after a day or two of use, so I switched to the nozzle with a single wider opening. No more clogging, and it's running fine after three weeks.

Came back for another one for a second bird bath. I love that the water won't be stagnant and will hopefully deter mosquitos.

I read about several fountain reviews and went with this due to the better motor which is supposed to have longer life. So far so good! Have had it all summer and still going. You have to pull out a little filter and clean about every week unless water gets mucky which will increase the longevity of it. I love the color change at night. I am hoping this one will last longer then previous ones that did not have a filter to clean. Will update if it dies out before summers end.

I first bought this because a previous fountain of mine kept spilling the water out of my bird bath. I changed the tops on the fountain and nothing seemed to work. I purchased this one due to the fact that I have lights that would turn on at night and it had plastic arms to stabilize the fountain itself.
The 1st week I had the fountain, I had to troubleshoot a few quirks it had but once I discovered them, I loved it! The lights won't turn on unless there is enough water to float the fountain itself. We had a few days of dry weather and the birdbath water had mostly evaporated. I consider that a user error :).
The second quirk was sometimes if I used the hose to refill the water, the plastic arms would come off. I had put them on too loosely, once again user error but it took my husband to tell me where to insert how I could place them in different areas to balance the fountain better. That's actually a plus considering I have it in a flower bed and the rain had affected the soil levels enough to unbalance the bird bath. So a HUGE plus for the adjustable arms.
The 3rd issue is common to all solar fountains I have used in the past, if you don't use additives to the water and/or use well water to fill up the bird bath, eventually you will have to clean out mineral build up on the inserts on the top of the fountain. Easy enough to clean out by smoking the insert in some vinegar and using an old toothbrush to scrub the heavy build up.

The media could not be loaded. This bird bath fountain is just what my birds needed. A place to sip clean fresh water and take a bath or shower. It's become a bit of a flock favorite hang-out! My favorite view is watching them shower as they blissfully turn their backs to the streams of water and lift their beaks to the sun"¦. Ahhhhh! I've owned other fountains that don't hold up"¦ so far this one is doing its job and more. It has sensors that
automatically shut off the motor when water level is too low to prevent burnout. It has a much longer solar battery life that allows small colored lights to illuminate in the dark. When in full sun I get a higher level out of the spout. There are various spout configurations as well. The supports that clip on the bottom most often keep it centered "¦ however that is related to the size and shape of your fountain bowl. Mine is shallow with a larger flatter area for congregating"¦. which necessitates more frequent fills. Like any bird products it's important to keep it clean. This has a removable mesh like filter underneath that is important to keep rinsed and clean. I also bring it in and clean and wipe off any slimy water residue. The centering tubes are clipped underneath. They stay on good but when filling and cleaning it's important to be sure they are secured. I'd recommend to the seller that they include an extra set of these. I've been able to recreate them for my previous fountain using straws and shelf pins but as an added buying incentive"¦it would be great to provide 6 or 8 of these rather than just the 4. Plus for different size birdbaths it would give the option of providing more stability." I'd definitely recommend this fountain! Birds need year round supplies of clean water and with the sweltering heat in different locations around our world"¦ you'd be providing them a welcomed relief.
