I really like this bed, I put it together myself it was pretty easy I think I did it in about an hour and that was with my almost 4 year old running around the room I was putting it together. I would say that it's pretty sturdy, the bottom bed comes out and goes in pretty easy, my son and I sit on the bottom part to read books, and it holds us well with a few creeks. It will be perfect for sleep overs. My son sleeps on both the top and bottom so it's a fun game of where I'd he going to sleep tonight. Over all for the money it is exactly what I wanted.
