I bought this monocular because a pair of cardinals nested in my magnolia tree and I wanted to observe them and their baby hatchling. This was also my very first monocular. I was pleasantly surprised at the magnification from 10 ft away. I had much fun with it watching the cardinals that I am researching birding as my next adventure. I would say this monocular is fine for a beginner. Except for my iphone that kept coming off and needing to be adjusted and the lens cover that kept coming off (i took it off the thing since it was not going to stay on), I would say this monocular is fine for a beginner.

I like the monocular. As I took the parts out of the package, some small screws fell out of the bag. The screws were to hold the tripod together. I reassembled the tripod twice, but it came undone both times. The tripod is a big disappointment. I have three tripods already, so I kept the product. Otherwise, I would have returned it.

The monocular is a nice tool to bring along on our biking trips. It is lightweight and has a good magnification and clear picture that allows you to observe nature in all its beauty. It comes with a tripod and mount for the phone so you can use it to take pictures as well. It takes a bit of practice to use it as an extension for your phone, but it works well

I misplaced my small monocular telescope and found the PhysioPhyx 80x100 Monocular-Telescope High Powered Monocular Low Night Vision Monocular on Amazon. Works really well, a little larger than the one I previously had but still very nice. It is nice to be able to focus with one hand.
