Updated review
I've had the unit for almost a month now. It runs great but the tube wasn't allowing the tank to drain properly. The angle has to be a perfect downward slope otherwise water either sits in the tube or doesn't drain and fills the small tub. After quite a bit of maneuvering I was able to figure out an angle that caused it to drain into my sump pit.
The company reached out to me about my 3 star review and offered a refund because I wasn't completely satisfied. If they are as attentive with their warranty as they are concerned about their reputation, then buying this product is a no brainer.

TLDR;
Quiet
Small
Easy to operate
Lighter than many other 50 pint dehumidifiers
Warranty easy to submit/extend for 2nd year (no idea if they'll honor it)
Small water reservoir
No clamp for plastic tube, could slip off
Our basement is HUMID! Living near DC/Baltimore, a former swamp, the humidity can be off the charts.
I previously had 2 homelab dehumidifiers working around the clock keeping the humidity in check. That worked great for a few years until 1 decided to no longer drain. During the winter that meant emptying the bucket once per day. Up to 3 times in the summer, which was unacceptable.
I was looking for something to replace the malfunctioning dehumidifier in my utility closet. It would have to contend with a sump pump, water heater, and general dampness from concrete block.
As others have mentioned, it clearly says to stand it upright for 24 hours before plugging it in. Likely to allow the freon to go where it needs to. Setting it up was super simple. It didn't weigh all that much, maybe just over 20 pounds. I had to carry it down a flight of steps, and it was nowhere near as heavy as my old ones. I read the instructions, but that wasn't really necessary. Plug it in, set up the desired humidity level, and you're basically up and running.
There are two parts to it I'm not particularly fond if. First off, the hose and port. The hose is your run of the mill plastic tube, nothing special. It slips over the port of the dehumidifier, which is a little bit tricky to access. I ended up removing the water reservoir and pushing it from the side and underneath. It felt pretty secure, but could have benefited from some sort of clamp. While I doubt it will slip off, I would be more confident with something that locks it in place, even if that was as simple as barbs on the port.
My other issue is the small size of the water reservoir and difficulty removing it. Trying to take it out the first time was EXTREMELY difficult. It wouldn't slide out and needed to be forced. It does seem to be a little easier the second time, but still not as easy as I think it should be. Secondly, the size of the tank is SMALL. Maybe 1/3 the size of my old 50 pint dehumidifiers. If I weren't draining this into my sump pit, it would need A LOT of emptying. So keep that in mind when purchasing.

The positive reviews seem very accurate thus far. I've had the unit for 4 days. Humidity % in my basement went from low 70's to low 50's very quickly. Holding nicely in the low 50's. I used the provided hose drainage system which was easy to set up and appears to be working flawlessly. You absolutely must make sure that the hose is positioned completely downward to the drain to let gravity do the work of fully draining. If you use the bucket, yes, it's a bit small but not a concern to me. The unit is very quiet compared to 3 other dehumidifiers that I've owned. Unit came very well packaged with extremely clear and well-written instructions. Electric utilization to be determined. The unit boasts an Energy Star rating so I'm expecting efficiency. Seems well built. I like the 5-year warranty on the compressor and the 2-year overall warranty if you register the unit. All dehumidifiers seem to stop working correctly after a few years. I still recommend purchasing the 4-year relatively inexpensive warranty. I've done this for every dehumidifier I've ever purchased and it has paid off nicely. I highly recommend this dehumidifier based on this evaluation thus far. Lastly, I purchased a separate digital indoor hygrometer for about $12 to double check the unit's built-in humidity gage accuracy. I'm expecting a fairly close match to within 2-3 % which is the accuracy level of most of these inexpensive, home-use hygrometers.
Great Customer Service in addition to a great product

Here is my story. I purchased this dehumidifier and received it quickly. After following all the instruction regarding set up I plugged it in an started it up. It ran very quietly but in over 24 hours it extracted no moisture at all. I was concerned first because it wasn't working as advertised and second because I purchased it to take to a second home we have and was under a time crunch.
I contacted VELLGOO customer service via email to make sure I was operating the item correctly. "Emily" was very helpful and concern. We went over all steps and she agreed that my item was defective. She arranged for another item to be shipped to me directly from their warehouse. This was all done directly, with not assistance needed from Amazon. I felt this was commendable on their part. The replacement came quickly and once started, immediately started extracting moisture from the air in my house.
I have not used it very long yet, but it is Very Quiet AND VERY EFFECTIVE in removing the moisture from the air. I tested it in 50% humidity and it pulled a lot of water in just an hour or so.
So, in summary I would highly recommend this dehumidifier for its quality and effectiveness and VELLGOO for their customer service.

There are 2 good things about the Vellgoo:
First, we live in a humid area near the ocean. In the winter especially, the high humidity and cold temperatures leads to a continual dampness that isn't great for health. This dampness seems to go to your bones :). The Vellgoo completely changes this by lowering our humidity level. We even don't have to use the furnace as much because the drier air doesn't feel as cold, so this might even offset the cost of running the Vellgoo.
Second, we unfortunately had a problem with our Vellgoo a bit less than a year after purchasing it. Vellgoo customer support was amazing and sent us a replacement quickly under warranty.
Bottom line, I highly recommend both the product and the customer support of the company. In our case, Emma on the customer support team has really stood behind their product.

The relative humidity in our 1600 sq ft house has been 75%+ all summer. It was gross and musty and certain items were growing mold/mildew. In desperation I bought a random humidifier on Amazon and it wasn't powerful enough to make any difference. Next I bought this wonderful product, the "Vellgoo 4,500 Sq.Ft Energy Star Dehumidifier for Basement with Drain Hose, 52 Pint DryTank".
Within a day of turning it on, the humidity was The tank fills up three times a day (every 8 hours)... it has been removing that much water from our air! The unit is very low maintenance: regularly emptying the tank is all I've had to do so far.
Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase. I had a household problem, bought an affordable product, and the problem was solved. If only every purchase went this well.
Pros:
It works! Really well!
Affordable price
Fits into home decor easily
it is well designed and easy to use
Cons:
It is large, so you'll have to find a place for it (but a smaller size would mean less performance and/or more frequently required emptyings).
It makes a small amount of noise, so you may need to chose its location wisely (but any working dehumidifier will generate noise from the compressor and fan)
It blows out warm air, so it may make the room its in hotter and may affect your home's themorstat, so you may need to choose its location wisely (again, any working dehumidifier will blow out warm, dry air).
In conclusion, the unit is well designed and manufactured, it looks and works nice, and any cons it has are shared by all dehumidifers. So, this is a great dehumidifier and comes highly recommended by me.
