Nice basic trailcam

Customer service contacted me and we worked out an appropriate solution for me. Watch for their new camera and app coming out around October.
The camera itself is a nice unit that is well built and relatively easy to use.
The motion detection on high sensitivity does not activate for birds or squirrels. Takes a larger size like hawk or cat to activate. Night vision is pretty good.
No reviews of app functionality were in the product information and they should be.
App really is bad. Pay attention as I got a vendor email to use a different app rather than the one in the instructions. It is a pain to get in to the camera as you have to activate Bluetooth, choose the camera, then activate the wifi, choose a different camera name, activate the wifi, wait for it to say it did not find it (it shows it did) tell it to connect everytime without wifi because it will not remember, shrink the screen, go back to app and wait for it to connect. You have to do this every time you connect.
Once in the camera the app has pretty basic functions to change settings, photo or movie and get your pictures (once you figure out to hit the app picture. No functions to enlarge the picture but it is easy to download to your phone. Remember to turn off your Bluetooth and reconnect to your regular wifi when you exit the camera.

Camera is good. It's a little slow to download images to the App but the App is back in the store now so it's all working again.

When I initially purchased the camera the iphone app had disappeared. Customer service responded quickly and in a few days it was back. Now that it is running I'm fairly happy with it, but I had to do some things to keep the app from struggling with the files. When connected to the camera wi-fi, I changed the settings to turn off both "Private Wi-Fi Address" and "Limit IP Address Tracking". I believe this is safe enough because the camera has no independent internet connection. I also set the camera to photo+video, taking three photos at 10MB and video at 1080. The camera is for security in our woods and once I have it mounted in a tree I can just stand below it and connect to view the photos. If I see something I want to see more about, I can view the video from the same time. Plus I can check the status of the battery, view of camera, etc. The solar panel has kept the internal battery charged. The quality of the photos and videos is fantastic even at those settings, and it is great not to have to go up to the camera, unstrap it, physically take out the memory card, then plug it into a device to view it, as I had to with my older camera. And this is much cheaper than a cellular camera (monthly fees!) if you don't need live viewing. Connecting to the camera requires first turning on bluetooth and then joining the phone's wifi, but the app gives instructions at each step.
Camera Works Well

The solar power feature is very helpful, and eliminates the need to change or recharge AA batteries. The onboard chargeable battery seems to work very well. On the downside, audio volume is weak. We use the camera to photograph and video critters near our house (not for hunting) and we have trouble hearing the birds chirping and other animals rustling thru the grass. Have noticed low audio volume with other cameras too.

I am going to keep this camera. The interface on the app is horrible but the solar, photo/movie quality and camera options are awesome! However, there are catches, not mentioned in the product description, when you increase quality settings.
For example, if you bump up the video quality to 4K, you may have to bump that quality down in order to transfer that video to your mobile device wirelessly (the interface will prompt you). There are other scenarios similar swell, too many to list.
Interface. Using the interface is painful. For example, downloading from the camera wirelessly to a smartphone is very steppy, unclear and not intuitive.
-The interface graphics look like old-school web design 3.2.
-I can't figure out to select 1 image to download, without having to download all images. (Super painful when it's video clips)
Using the camera wirelessly, viewing and downloading from a long distance the content, connectivity and transfer speed will be based on line of sight/obstructions and is not the fault of the product.
Consequently, if the distance is not very far, with no obstructions or hills, your transfer speeds will be faster.
Using wirelessly requires you to first connect from your phones blue tooth to your camera, then, connect to the wi-fi generated by the blue tooth wi-fi and them back Tom the app.
This process is a tad cumbersome. Keep in mind your speeds will vary based YOUR environment.
As mentioned, the photos/video are clear.
The solar capabilities will save you battery costs!! I've had the camera in the field for a week...all on solar. That rocks!!!
I interacted with the company for support and they did respond - they are clearly on the other side of the world (I'm in the States) so answers usually came a day later. Kudos for their responses!
FYI: there is not a screw mount on the bottom of the unit. It is on the backside.
The good outweigh the bad. This may not be the ideal gift for those that don't do well with electronic devices, etc.
I am keeping this camera. I am greeting great shots of wild life.
Solar power is great!
There are caveats with changing certain settings. Have fun!
