We bought this for our 8yr old son and he loves it. My husband has even hopped on it and he said it was a smooth ride. It has held up fine to my rough kiddo and we love the kick stand, a feature hid old scooter didn't have.

I had trouble unfolding the kick scooter. Now I understand why and I've modified my review.

The Aero Big Wheels kick scooter is sturdy and has bigger wheels than my old one = more revolutions per push. I also don't need to adjust the height bar and that's a relief. The large button to push, front/bottom of the Aero, is a bit tricky. The lever designed to be stepped on requires lifting up on the stem bar. I didn't understand that at first. After I lifted up, I could get my foot into the narrow space to apply the firm pressure needed.

The other issue has to do with the rear brake. There's not enough space between the back wheel and the friction brake pad. The last time I used the scooter, I could hear the wheel rubbing. I tried pulling the fender hard to the side, hoping that would fix it. Sometimes that seemed to work, but only for awhile. The seller agreed with my idea to cut off the tab. It's sturdy, so I'll need help doing that.

Keep in mind that the scooter is designed for perfect surfaces. I've used it for errands downtown, aware of pebbles and after-storm mud and dust on the sidewalks and roadways. My old, dinky scooter didn't have fancy bearings. It was also a lot lighter for carrying around inside the post office or in stores while I'm shopping. If you've got plenty of muscle (unlike me), the carry-around weight won't matter.

Other than those caveats, it's lovely.

The seller contacted me and gave advice that matched what I figured out: Lifting up on the stem tube and then lowering it gently allowed the mechanism to work and I could unfold the kick-scooter. He also gave me a refund for my trouble. So I've added 2 stars. Thank you, Jason!

Like: The product is a heavy duty one and can support my 200 lbs body weight plus my son's weight, totally 250 lbs. I bought this scooter as a gift for my kid. He loves this good looking scooter very much. The springs in the product can well reduce the vibration force and the damping force during driving. Also the low torque at the wheel and shaft joints makes driving the scooter so easy and fast.
Dislike : No. The product is perfect.

First, thanks Amazon, I got a free replacement. But it had all the same problems. But then, with help from the vendor support , I was able to work through understanding my issues.

Long story short, besides the inaccurate setup docs, none of my original issues are actually problems using the scooter.

The "play" in steering doesn't present itself during actual use. The resistance to steering goes away after a little use, they just have the head tube torced pretty tight.

And the rubbing with the disc brake goes away after a little use. I'm sure I could adjust it away completely, but not a big deal

I think they suffer from some "first impression" issue they need to work on, but this is actually a quality piece of scouter engineering.



First impressions were not great. The instructions for assembly don't match the state of the scooter when it is shipped. Instructions show handlebar attached and it's not. And there is no info on how to do that. But at least that you can figure out with some googling.

Of more importance were three defects, two in assembly and one is design.

The front steering is very stiff and not at all smooth. At first I could barely rotate it by hand. It kind of "grinds" as if the bearings aren't smooth or perhaps the steerer tube is tightened too much.

The other is there is significant left/right "play" in the front steering, apparently introduced by the front suspension assembly. I see a good 1/4 inch of play each direction holding the handbags still. I haven't tried riding at any speed with this, but it seems that could introduce dangerous wobble at speed.

Finally, out of the box, the rear disc brake rubs against the break pads, significantly increasing rolling resistance. It didn't look warped, but something is causing contact at some parts of the rotation. I might be able to make adjustments for that, but that ought to be done at the factory, before shipping. This is not like wholesale bicycle that will go through setup at the retail store before use.

And the bad news, all this was not a one off. I immediately ordered a replacement which arrived quickly (thanks Amazon) and had exactly the problems, in fact worse with the brake rubbing. I didn't even finished unboxing that one, since it was worse than the original.

Now I have to decide to put up with it or return it and go through the research all over again for a higher quality adult scooter. What a waste of time.

My 11 year old son absolutely lives this scooter, compared to other smaller wheeled ones he has had. He rides it every chance he gets. This scooter rides smooth, handles bumps and cracks and rocks in the road easily. Sturdy! Fast! Loved!
