My Daughter has a radon remediation system in her basement. How do you know it's working without sending off tests in the mail?. This device is constantly giving you the radon data. She loves that I gave her this because her children play there all the time Great product!

I was getting a bad cough and sore throat, and lung pain, when I would go down in the basement. Friends suggested it was mold, but u had someone test and no mold. I got the thought that it maybe it might be radon. This little monitor was ringing off the hook after I plugged it in and after doing some research in my area, I was able to get a mitigation system. In my basement. It only took a few hours and cost $1695, with a lifetime warranty on the system (and $5 year warenty on the fan). Immediately my numbers went down by about half (though they said to allow a full week to judge it). But that was still high for me and while I felt immediately better, I still felt sick in the basement). They came back again and added a second system (tying it into the first system for $600 more) and I felt completely fine ðŸ'🎉 and my numbers went down to under one. (Note my house square footage is about 2000 square feet and only about 750 square feet in basement).
I highly recommend this device. I found that prior to getting my mitigation system, when I felt more sick in the basement I would check the numbers and they would be spiking and when I felt less sick they would be lower. I got to the point that without looking at the monitor, based on how I felt I could pretty accurately guess what the reading was going to say.
It is said that radon gas is odorless, tasteless, colorless, but their are signs if you are synced into your body you might be able to feel it.
Don't fear getting a mitigation system, it was relatively cheep compared to the cost of my health and is barely noticeable on the side of the house.

Seems to be a nice detector. So far in the evenings the radon level goes up. Seems to be pretty in sync with another brand I currently own. Only difference is this one can tell the level in 10 minutes. It is really nice because then can take it to your friend's house and check theirs in only a few minutes rather then having to keep it there a couple days. Easy to set up and understand the reading. I am glad I bought this device.

We have lived in our home for 13 years (crawlspace) and never thought much about radon, even though we are in a moderate zone (2-4 pCi/L). Not going to lie, it was hard to buy a monitor and face the unknown levels we've lived with for years. But I went ahead and purchased one in early March while it was still cold. Winter is considered high radon season, thus the best time to monitor.

Set up is effortless. No emails or apps, just plug and play. I know it's working properly, because the number will drop when the windows are open.

The monitor displays the following numbers : Real Time (every 10 min), Weekly, Monthly, and Long-Term.

Per our radon guy, the number we need to pay attention to is the LT average, not RT. Our RT numbers during the day are 1-3 pCi/L and overnight 4-5 pCi/L. However, our LT average is 3. And summer hasn't even started yet for that number to come down even more. Weather, barometer, etc. plays a huge factor in fluctuations. For example, rain and strong winds will spike it to 5-7. He said don't let those spikes freak you out.

So, do we NEED to get a radon mitigation? Probably not. However, because it is said that there is no such thing as safe levels with radon, we wanted it as low as possible in our home. So we went ahead and had a system installed today. I will be happy to update this post with our new numbers.

I am going to spread the word to our neighbors about checking radon levels. Maybe even allow a few to borrow the monitor to also give them some peace of mind.

Update: we had the radon system installed and weekly/monthly levels are now at 0.9. We still have the occasional spikes from 1-2, but nothing like before. The system was $1700, not including the required vapor barrier which we already had in place.

This device gives me peace of mind. Just knowing that I have a visual of the levels on a daily basis. I had a radon specialist to do an evaluation of the level readings and this device.
