Works as advertised but remote is cheaply made

Works, easy to hook up. Instruction manual is nearly useless. More like specification sheet and totally in Chinese. Only useful information is a list of fault codes. Left and right motor cables are labeled in Chinese as well and you'll need Google Translate to figure out which is which. Remote unit works but is cheap game controller and doesn't look very durable. Not what you expect for handicapped medical device. No instructions for remote unit or its functions.

I made some adjustments to this so that I could get it to work on my electric chair. Once I got it all connected and operational it works great. Great product. Well made and sturdy. The joysticks make it easy to control and brake. Thanks
Easy to install. Works well. Haven't tried the remote yet.

I was very excited when I came across this controller. The original wheelchair controller has no issues at all; however, I'm always worried that something like breaking this could render an $1800 electric wheelchair somewhat useless. The fact that we now have a backup controller that takes just a few minutes to install gives us peace of mind.
The new controller looks just like the original. It does, in fact, feel more sturdy than the original. I clearly labelled each wire before I removed the original controller. I was then able to match the wires up on both controllers, and appropriately label everything on the new controller. Luckily, everything is logical and fairly straightforward - mine did not come with the expected user manual. I did make use of Google Translate to confirm that the stickers on the connectors lined up with where I felt they should go.
After testing it, I did put the original controller back on, and am keeping this one as a backup.
Since I didn't leave the new controller on, I have not had the opportunity to test the remote. Probably just as well - this wheelchair is used by my wife, and I somehow think that she may not get quite as much enjoyment out of me having that remote as I expect to have. As for the remote itself - there are several buttons on it, more than are on the actual controller itself. I imagine it's something of a general purpose remote controller that works with multiple devices, including this controller. At some point in the near future, I will put the new controller on again just to test the remote. I imagine I may have to search online for instructions - there's probably a pairing step that needs to be performed.
Again, I'm very happy with this new joystick controller for the wheelchair. It was easy to install, it works, and it's well worth it for the peace of mind we get knowing we have this for a backup.
