The box is my favorite part! The box looks like a book, opens like a book, and has a thick and sturdy cover. The inside cover of the box gives a little background on the inspiration for this set of cards. The cards fit neatly inside the box.

Adorable and Reasonably Priced, High-Quality Vintage-Look Cards

Hallmark is a high-quality card brand, so I had high expectations for these cards. They arrived in a really nice, reusable box that is shaped like a book. I received three cards each in four different designs (12 cards in all) and 12 red envelopes. The cards are on the smaller side (4x6). They mail with regular postage. All of them are appropriate for anyone. My favorite is the cream card with the different flowers on the front - inside, it has a nice explanation about flowers in Victorian times in addition to the greeting. Overall, these are great quality cards at a very reasonable price.

The best part (for me) about these 12 (4 sets of 3) vintage Valentine's Day cards; is that I get to keep the book-style box they come in! Compared to the eye popping colors used in modern cards, the rather simple and muted colors used are sure to attract the recipient's attention. And the simple messaging inside each card is direct, and to the point.
Because of the muted colors (see picture) you might want to use a white adhesive mailing label, if you plan to mail any of the cards... OCR is kinda picky and the envelope's dull red color may make addresses hard to scan.
Fun Fact: It's "Valentine's Day" because the day belongs to Saint Valentine. It's "Valentine Wish, Letter, or Greeting" because it comes from Saint Valentine. It is NEVER "Valentines Day" because there is only one Saint Valentine.

I ordered these because the pictures on the Amazon listing looked really cute- in person, they're even better! The individual card designs are very cute, they aren't too loud or too busy, but just classic, nice prints. You get 12 cards and envelopes, three each of four different designs...and the packaging may be the best part of all. The cards come in a super cute box that is made to look like a Valentine's Day book - I'm certainly going to re-purpose the box as a holiday decorations after the cards are gone.
So great cards, a bonus re-usable box/decor item and from the name on greeting cards...for a very reasonable price? Definite buy in my book!
