Used these to muffle the sound coming through a door. Definitely helped but didn't blow me away. Muffles sound good enough to at least get a decent night's sleep while others were still awake.

Used these in my classroom to help absorb some noise that echos off of a low ceiling. I think I really need another set to be really effective, but even one set had definitely helped. I used mounting tape to adhere them to the ceiling and they have not moved!

I ordered 12 of these panels in total. It was a small room I was setting it up for. I would definitely get more than you think you'll need just in case. Overall these worked great. I just nailed them up and it reduced the amount of reverb down 50% which made it sound so much more natural on phone calls in there.

First and foremost, these work. Polyester panels are very good at absorbing noise, echo, and reflections in a room.
However, at only 3/8" thick, they're a little less effective on their own than I expected for the price. If I double them up on the wall, it makes a noticeable difference compared to just a single layer of panel. Unfortunately, this means that some 2" thick foam panels do a similar job for cheaper (but also uglier). Perhaps BXI will consider sourcing a 3/4" or 1" thick panel. I can't recommend these as your only acoustic panels in the room, that would be expensive. But, they do work well in conjunction with foam panels and bass traps. If you already have some egg crate foam and it's not cutting it, add these.
In short, I would buy these for any home office to help with acoustics, but I wouldn't try building a home theater with these panels alone.
Please also note that these are not for soundproofing, so if you're looking to isolate yourself from your neighbors or traffic, you need to look at sound deadening material and/or acoustic insulation.
