Mat was purchased to protect the vinyl flooring in a home office with constant chair use. The mat lays flush with no curling at the edges. Chair wheels roll seamlessly with no lint or fuzz accumulation from constant movement. Also helps with sound absorption. Would buy again if in need.

I needed an office mat but didn't want the heavy plastic ones that dig into the rug. This mat is basically described for use with wood floors. But I gambled that it will also work with low pile carpeting. And it does, beautifully! The chair rolls easily on it and it even rolls easily on and off the mat. It also has other uses, especially if you have pets. I have a cat that loves scratching my carpet. I bought another mat, cut it and it fits perfectly under the door so that it closes easily, and it protects my carpet. One bit of advice, get some double sided tape for the corners/edges. What I love most about this mat is it's not too thick or heavy but it does the job!

So the mat works, and is protecting my floor so far, but my wheels of my chair cause a lot of black fuzz to come up from the mat. It was a cheap floor mat, and it is nice that it sticks to the floor , which makes installing it pretty easy. But the shedding is a bit more than I expected. If shedding isn't an issue, then I highly recommend it if shedding is an issue, then steer clear.

The description doesn't mention that there is a self-adhesive (i.e. sticky) bottom with a protective film that must be peeled off. I bought this to protect a new hardwood floor and can't risk that adhesives will leave a residue or otherwise ruin the floor.
