We have two rescued Chihuahuas who HATE having their nails trimmed. Picture World War III. It is ugly. I was skeptical when I was buying this, thinking it would be another nail grooming product that I would end up not using because the dogs would hate it. MIRACULOUSLY, we can actually use it on them!! It is a two person job for us right now with one dog holder and one nail grinder person, but I feel safer grinding their nails as opposed to clipping them, and they do not fight us tooth and nail. BUY IT.
Amazing

I can tell u how awesome this thing is. Made short work of my dogs unruly nails. Super quiet, does vi rate the paw, but thats expected. I love how u could get right to the meat of a dark nail and it won't make it bleed. I can't tell u how many times I cut my dogs nails and hit the meat than had to deal with a bleeding paws. This product sloves that. Just expect to be covered in a good amount of nail dust.
Great for finish work

Last year, my dog blew out her knee and it has never quite recovered. Along with that, she is just getting older now and so she doesn't run around quite like she used to kept her nails short, and so where I never really had to worry about trimming them before, I do now.
So I bought these because she has black nails and I didn't wanna have to worry about accidentally going to short with trimmers found that grinding them down like this is a really long process. But I really do like these and it's nice that they leave a much cleaner finish, then the clippers do. So the best option for me is to use both. I clip her nails with regular style clippers and then finish them with these to get them nice and smooth and not jagged and sharp.

First let me start by saying , it comes charged but for full power and effectiveness , charge it before use . Dog one , tiny , under 15 lbs and really didn't mind it at all . Silent , the dual light system is so important & actually allowed us to see the quick . The sound of device actually calmed pango ( dog one ) ! Dog two , super abused by previous owner before my father got him and always gave the hardest time for groomers to do his feet . His nails are super thick and he's been so traumatized . Since my dads passing and me taking the animals , their nails have been the crux of my existence . However , macho was scared , we let him hear the tool on all speeds and feel it on all speeds so he could get use to it . He wiggled a bit and whined but overall the tool got them both done in less than 25-30 mins . Bunches of kisses and treats made the experience even better . My husband says he was pleasantly surprised with how comfortable , durable , and versatile it was . Can't recommend enough . Oh "¦ we did give hemp treats about 20 mins before ;)
I had doubts. But this is a game changer.

My Great Pyranees mix has bear claws. Big, thick, black nails. This makes it very difficult to trim them and since I've hit the quick many times over the last 12 years, she is afraid of the process and so am I. I've tried a corded rotary tool with the sanding barrels before but she was scared of that and it was too difficult, so I just tried to cut them normally but it was hard and the nails have always been longer than they should be. But battery tech has improved over the last 10 years a lot and better products can be found for very cheap prices more so than back then. So I got this one based on reviews and videos on sale and I can't believe how calm she is when I'm using it. I use treats like I always have, but she doesn't pull her paws back and doesn't show any anxiety at all. None. She just sits there while I grind slowly. I'm learning how to position her paws and the tool and my body (I have to lay on the floor with her) but I'm sure we will figure out the best positioning over the next few weeks. I'm grinding pretty frequently at the moment (every few days) just a little bit because I have a lot to trim back until it's a normal length and I'm taking just a millimeter or so off at a time to allow the quick to recede. So not only do I have that amount of precise control of the tool, but she even lays her head down and closes her eyes while I do it. Such a difference from the scissor type clippers. And with the light and rechargeable battery, it's a real shame I didn't have this option years ago.
