My husband and I need ambient noise to sleep. It drowns out any noise from someone doing the dishes, walking upstairs, the TV from the living room, etc. it helps us sleep better and we've used sound machines for years even when we travel. When we stay at hotel, it drowns out the housekeeping staff cleaning the rooms next door. The vacuuming used to wake us up. Now we wake up fully rested. This sound machine has many settings and several sound levels. It's perfect! The size is also a huge plus for us because we can travel with it very easily! I high recommend it 10/10!!
