I have to admit that after reading all the negative reviews, I was a bit apprehensive to make the purchase for my Mac/Monterey 12.6 . . . but procrastination forced my decision. This being the 3rd year using H&R, I like the continuity--and really had but one hiccup during the preparation process, where it bounced me out of the platform, but retained all data entered. It was surprisingly easy, no print probs--although I missed the fine print regarding the $20 fee to e-File In MD. The Good News is I submitted my Fed/State taxes on 4/16 and received confirmation of both refunds in my account by 4/20! I truly did not expect such expedience, but ever-grateful! Also, my Amazon Digital Credits were applied towards the purchase price, which was an added bonus!

Overall, I'll continue to utilize the product... for it surely beats the $350-$450 charges I've incurred at Tax Prep stores and the CPA! Thank you : )

I had been taking my taxes to professionals during my working years when filing my duo-taxes (U.S. + Canadian). But after the sale of my California rental property and retiring, my taxes to both countries became much less complicated... and, my income was less. In retirement, I did not feel I needed tax pros to do my taxes, nor did I want to pay over 500 dollars to have them done.

I no longer file in Canada as I live in the U.S., but I still needed software that could handle my foreign pension. Other software packages did not provide Form 1116 that I needed, and it really is not very complicated to do my taxes with the right forms. Last year I tried HR Block online, and while it was OK and I did buy their Pro help package, I found it frustrating to wait days to hear back from the Pro after each text to her. But, I did learn how to do it myself with HRBlock Pro, and decided to actually buy the software this year to have access to my tax forms after filing.

I will buy this software next year as it is easy to use when you know what forms you need, and they are provided. The only issue I had was filing Homestead Taxes with my state. Even though I put in all the information for the Homestead tax, it did not transmit online with my state taxes as it should have. I just got my property taxes and they were high because the software did not eFile my Homestead taxes. HR Block was there to help me figure out what went wrong, and told me to select all of my forms in the Print function (next year) even though I am filing electronically. This will ensure that all forms are sent in Efile

Like the question for all the areas that are cover for deductions and explanations. Good product

Have use the product for many years and it's produced good results. As my tax returns become more complicated, I mean need some advice in addition to the software.

Very convenient. I have been getting this as a download from Amazon for the past 4 years at least. It is very user friendly. Never even needed to use tech support. I did not use any other programs other than H&R Block so can't compare it. They have been doing taxes for many years so they also created this great do it yourself program. Can't beat it. No need to pay an accountant and the price is very reasonable. It's like an interview process, you just answer the questions and fill in the data.
