Perhaps I'm biased. I used TT for several years, then went to work for HRB as a tax processor for a season. The program is very intuitive and easy to use. The interview process walks you through everything you need to know and loads information from last year. I have used it with self employment income and a rental home and have been able to do that with NO problem. The only thing I don't like is having to pay $20 to electronically file the state return. I mailed them in for years, but now can't be bothered. The $20 is a relatively easy pill to swallow

For this product, when instructions were followed, there was no download button on the screen that you are directed to. After 2 phone calls and a resend from amazon, I got to the correct point to download. Program works fine once I got it downloaded. Too much hassle

what software doesn't have some kind problem? i prefer to keep using the product and just figure out how to get around the problem (assuming you can't get them to fix it)..
Tech support used to be good, especially if you had an actual problem. mine was depreciation and i got them to make a couple changes that made that part MUCH easier to use.
now its 1031 tax exchanges, they simply do NOT ASK AND HANDLE the questions for the 1099-S form correctly. yes, they thoroughly do correctly ask all the questions correctly about the exchange, but then when you get to the 1099-S (which also has a box about 1031) they fail to ask and handle it correctly. thus i will most likely get audited because of it.
YES, i DID try calling in, but the automated phone system does NOT have an option that remotely comes close to the problem and it took 2 days to reach someone who new nothing and would NOT put me in contact with someone more knowledgeable. ended up calling a local office, BUT, they do NOT use the same software at the offices that they sell to the public so that was really no help either.
there are other things that are irritating too, BUT, i have used this program for so long i have figured out how to get around them.
i would still recommend this product to anyone who is capable of good record keeping as that's HALF the battle.
ALSO, in this time of ON-LINE transactions/business, you need to FORCE yourself to immediately get a hard-copy or PDF of the INVOICE/BILL and do NOT rely on getting an emailed copy if one is sent at all.

I've been using H&R Block software downloaded from Amazon for a couple of years now without any issues. A bit tricky to find the download button (go into your orders), but no problems with downloading, updating and filing. Usually try to buy my software over black Friday or on special through Amazon. Can't understand some of the low reviews since I love the discounted price and not having to go shopping for it.

It's a decent program, and I was wonder if they're going to screw something up, but it's better than tax cut. I wish this technical support, and the customer support were better.
