I had a devil of the time making this work and then I read some advice off of Amazon. If your towers are less than 30 miles away select short range rather than long range. Once I made that switch it more than doubled the channel and all of the good ones except ABC. Then again I can't of anything I watch on ABC.
I don't get all of the channels hanging on the wall behind the TV compared to the window, but I get the important ones. This is a decent compromise considering I am married to a woman of style and sophistication.

We live in Belmont, NC and have not had a great experience with OTA television. Reception is spotty at best. We have tried a few different antennas over the few years we have been here, and this one is by far the best we have tried. When set to long range, it picks up the 2 stations we watch for local news. We do not use this for most of the shows we watch now as we have moved from AT&T TV to streaming options to save money. What we lost was our local news and CW shows, hence the antenna.
Correct antenna placement is essential for OTA television. HOA rules prevent using an exterior rooftop antenna, so we put this one on our north facing wall. That seems to be the best for our location. And moving it by a foot one way or another drastically affects the signal strength.
But at least for now, this gives us a solid clear signal and picture for the stations we need. It's not perfect, but it works for us.

Easy to set up. Most of the channels are ones you're not familiar with and show old time programs. But I wanted to get the local channels mainly. 2 of the 3 local are usually very strong connection. One of them keeps getting fuzzy.
