These are great maracas for casual play at drum circles, outside venues and casual use.
The size is great for adult hands, but a bit large for the kids.
The sound is moderately high pitched, "rounded" and of diffuse attack. In casual situations, these
will work fine to produce a comfortable, sandy "swish". The combination of material and bead/sand load seems to preclude any "speaking" with these.
