Not bad to set up. I put the circle center 500' from the house and a radius of 20 meters (656 feet). This stops them from getting to the road or too far into the woods. I didn't train the two Labs with the collars and they just figured it out.
They are set to beep and mildest shock with long electrodes. No vibrate. I wish I could set up so it would beep first and then shock them if they went 20 feet further. As it is they're surprised when they reach the limit.
I'm not 100% sure but I think, with the control pad toward their bodies, they can scratch at their necks and get shocked. They screamed a few times for no other reason. I've been turning the control pad toward their heads and not noticed any other problems.
I like the extra strap slide. I put that on first, thread the strap through the quick connect, then thread the strap back through the extra slide, and it doesn't slip. On other straps I've had to sew the strap together to keep it from coming loose.
I had one charger go out and offered to just take a new charger instead of returning the whole unit and that worked out for everyone.
Pleasant experience. Dogs get to run loose but (probably) can't run off.

Wow! I wish we would've gotten this months ago for our 9 month old Pyrenees. Living on 4 acres of land with no fence (yet) has been stressful. We wanted to give her the freedom to play and run with our other dog who's 9 years old, but it was difficult because she doesn't always listen and she would roam off, and keeping her on a long leash wasn't cutting it"¦ So we decided to give this a shot and didn't take her any time to realize where the boundaries were (she's almost 70lbs and we keep the shocking level at 1). Of course we still check on her, but it's a piece of mind knowing she can't just run off or wander across the road
It works until it doesn't

I really liked this collar -as it kept our very adventurous dog closer to home and away from traffic. I used as the directions recommended, but sometimes it just seemed to turn off even though it was fully charged. It was frustrating to rely on it and it completely fail and it giving her mixed messages
On the plus side, our dog learned pretty quickly the bounds of where we wanted her to go and we don't use it anymore.

Don't get me wrong I love the collars I have 2 the only reason I put 4 stars and not 5 is on of them will turn off after it has been on for a while, I have plenty of land to turn the range up and let them roam without worrying, before they would run off with another dog and I might have to pick them up miles away, worth the money
