The rails have been nice for the seniors in household. They appreciate how it makes getting in and out of the potty easier.
One negative is that, at least with our toilet, the back of the raises interferes with normal raising of the toilet seat for doing #1 and cleaning the seat; the seat falls down.
So this product is great if you always sit; it's not quite right if people do their thing standing.

I have now purchased two of these. One for each of the bathrooms in my parents apartment. I was not sure of the quality or how it would last and feel where they used it, but after using one for less than a few days, they demanded we get another one. It is very sturdy and exceptionally easy to install. It does not sit in place like rock solid if that's what you're looking for, but it works absolutely flawlessly and does not shake or rattle when pressure is applied and you were standing. My parents are 88 and 85, and I would highly recommend this to anyone needing assistance on the toilet
