Key features

  • [Effective Gas Leak Detector] TOPTES PT520A can accurately help you locate the gas leakage of various combustible gases in tight spaces, such as methane, natural gas, propane, LPG, gasoline, etc. *Note: Please allow 30 seconds of warm-up time before the operation
  • [Flexible Probe Easy to Use] With a 17-inch flexible gooseneck( bendable in any direction), the portable gas leak detector makes it easy for you to access hard-to-reach areas, such as natural gas pipelines, propane storage tanks, gas fireplaces, sewers, basement, RV, and other narrow space. It can be carried anywhere to find leaks no matter outdoors or indoors.
  • [Visual & Audible Alarm] PT520A will rapidly respond in 0.5 seconds while gas is detected. Seven colored analog bars and a 75dB audible buzzer help you point out the gas leak location. Both of them increase with combustible gas concentration. Detection range: 50 to 10,000 ppm (*based on Methane)
  • [User-Friendly Functions] Activate or cancel the Auto Power-Off function through the APO button just in your need. When canceled, the detector will turn off after 10 minutes of inactivity to save power. In addition, you can turn off the audible alarm at any time via the Mute button to eliminate annoying alarm noise. The double-sided bar-shaped groove design and non-slip material make it wear-resistant and easy to hold.

This Gas Leak Detector comes in a very nice protective case and the 3 brand-named batteries are included, easy to read and understand instructions, so you can use it right out of the box. I purchased it because I have a propane tankless hot water heater, and my family and I started smelling rotten egg smells in our garage where the tank is located. We called a plumber, who fixed the tankless water heater, but not the source of the smell, so it seemed. We left the garage door open, then turned to Amazon for a Gas Leak Detector and this one met all of our needs and was reasonably priced. Within less than 24 hours of ordering it, it was in our home sending out an alarm as it picked up deadly propane in the air. We immediately called 911, the firemen's professional sniffer detected the same, and the Firemen took actions to ensure we were safe to stay in our home while we waited on the plumber. The plumber came back the very next morning and said he had purchased a Gas Leak Detector for over $200 on the way to our house, and it too found a propane gas in the air. It wasn't long after that the problem was found and fixed. We had used our detector and ran it along the Water heater and then along the main supply gas line and the signal became stronger the closer we got to a certain area. The plumber's detector did the same thing in the same area and sure enough there was a small but deadly hole in the metal coil gas supply line. Based off of how well this Gas Leak Detector preformed for our needs, I would recommend it for a propane gas leak detection as it states in its description.
However, if you think you smell something rotten and you have propane for any reason, DON'T do as we did. Please call 911 first, keep doors and windows open and then buy this! It's a great gift to give to someone who has propane use in their home as a housewarming gift or Christmas stocking stuffer too.
Must have for Home Safety

I built a cabin with a gas fireplace and an emergency generator. The gas line for the generator was plumbed outside but the fireplace line was run through the wall. There was a strong smell of gas, which prompted me to soap test all joints.

The gas smell still existed so I called my dealer who did a soap test, with no leaks. I purchased the unit and within seconds the leak was found and corrected.
