Fantastic press for smashing burgers and pressing steaks into the pan.

Perfectly designed to smash burgers on a griddle or press a steak into a skillet to get a good sear. VERY solid and well made. I cannot imagine bending or denting this item its so beefy. Very easy to handle. Comes with a nice leather grip cover so heat doesn't transfer to your hand when you use it. Cleaned-up easily with warm water and mild dish soap.
However, it wasn't cheap for something I'll only use occasionally during the summer grilling season. Maybe over-designed. So its hard to give 5 stars for value for money.

Perfect for smashburgers and bacon, but useless handle and sharp edges

As a fan of Made In projects, I appreciate this tool's design for making smash burgers and cooking bacon. The wide surface area and heft of the press make it perfect for flattening bacon strips and preventing curling. Additionally, the extra weight makes smashing burgers easier. For consistent results, press and feather off as you reach the edges.
However, there are two issues with this tool. Firstly, the handle is too close to the surface of the pan/grill, causing grease to jump up and cover it. Although it comes with a fitted leather sleeve, I find myself removing the handle before each cooking session. Secondly, the handle and other areas of the press are not rounded, exposing sharp edges when the handle is removed. While this is not a major issue since you don't hold onto the press for extended periods, it can be annoying.

Honestly, the fact this was made in Sweden is what intrigued me the most about this product. That fact made it sound quality made. I think it is priced a little higher than necessary, maybe it will be worth it since I haven't seen any rust issues so far. The stainless steel seems good quality as it is expected to be. It has some weight to it and grilled cheese and ham sandwiches work well, I pressed lightly down with the grill press when making a sandwich and leaving it on the sandwich for about 10 seconds before removing it, similar to how I have used a panini maker. I haven't tried cooking burgers with it yet, but I assume it will work fine. The metal is a little sharp around the edges, that could be fixed manually if it bugs you; I don't mind the sharpness though. I might consider changing the handle to a silicone heat resistant handle if I can find one that will fit, instead of the faux leather handle it comes with. Overall, I'm happy with the item!
