At first I was a little concerned when I took the hat out of the package. It looked really small. But once I lowered my ponytail, I was able to put the hat on. Also, I have medium size box braids. This hat will fit perfectly if you keep in mind to wear your hair straight or down. It does not have an opening for a ponytail but you should be able to wear a lower ponytail on your head. The army green is exactly what I got. The hat also has the mesh around the front half of the hat to allow for breathing.
