I'm very demanding when it comes to licorice (no Twizzlers EVER, or Stawberry - YUCK). If you want REAL licorice,
eliminate all US products (except from licorice.com), and NEVER buy licorice whose #1 ingredient is corn syrup. Make sure it has pure licorice oil or in some cases, anise. Anise tends to be spicy and a little sweet. Licorice, on the other hand, can be bitter, salty, and even sour. Your taste. The best licorice in my experience comes from three places: Australia, the Netherlands and Denmark. And now, this one from Finland: soft, not chewy; sweet, but not sugary. Love it. One note: licorice is a laxative...you've been warned!

Each purchase of this product has been so fresh! The taste on my taste buds scream "yummy"! I go through a package a week partly because I'm Anemic, but the explosion of licorice is so decadent! Thank you to Cambie manufacturers. I'm living it!

but this is not among them. Nicely balanced, and flavorful enough that I am not compelled to eat the whole bag at once. A nice occasional treat.

This is stickie chewy licorice with a deep strong licorice flavor. It has really grown on me after I remembered that the European Licorice is generally a big flavor. Seem less sweet than other black licorice. The candy is very fresh and I will get more.
