This is a little pricey for a one time kit. But it makes good monkey bread and some good memories. It is a lot of fun to shop for the ingredients and make it together as a family. I wouldn't buy a bunch of them, but for a baking day, it is definitely a good price for one kit.

We bought this for my 7 year old for Valentine's Day. I was his teacher/sous chef tonight. He read the directions with ease and they were easy to follow. They came out great. The only thing we did differently was add some vanilla to the buttercream, they needed that little bit of flavor. It made 9 whoopie pies for us. You will need to provide your own egg, milk, and oil.

This set is nice in many ways because it is almost an all-in-one besides the other things that you need that you hopefully (already) have in your kitchen. As much of a fun activity as it is, it is only a one-off that you would need to get your own ingredients so for that reason, the price point is extremely high for an activity like this. I do like that everything is well-packaged and premeasured so there is less of a hassle but part of me just thinks I'd want more bang for my buck. That being said, it is a great introduction to get your kids into baking or cooking in general, and that can sometimes be a priceless thing.

Got this for the grandkids I will get to see this summer. They are 8 and 9 yrs old so I thought it would be perfect for them. I like everything about this kit including the nicely packaged items, detailed and colorful instruction booklet, educational information about dirt, and even the tiny color page. What I think would have been nice though, is something other than disposable items for the kids to keep. Some little toys that can be played with in the dirt (the real dirt..). Also some disposable measuring & mixing supplies for making the pie, instead of having to dirty up mom's stuff. It just seems a little pricey for what is included. The kids should have fun with it though and I'm sure they'll love the dirt pie and gummy worms!
