I've had other semersable water heaters that often took up to 40 minutes to heat water to a shower temperture. This one is ready by the time I brush my teeth and shave. I bought this for camping and when my water quit working I used it at home. It has a built in thermomter that's simple easy to use. It cost no more than most other heaters.

This is the only water heater I found that was safe. It won't turn on until it's underwater because of the water sensor. My family has ruined several regular heaters in the past by plugging them in and not placing them in water. They then catch on fire quickly.
This heater also has several temperature settings so it doesn't have to be watched closely or check temps. It was definitely worth paying a little more to prevent fires and replacing heaters.
