This was packaged so great and so easy to put together. I just wish the side bars were a bit taller and padded at the top. The corners of the beams scratched our kayak because they're not tall enough to clear the side of the kayak so the corners dig into the kayak. We put some padding on them to protect the kayak from damage. Other than that we love it and it was just what we needed.

Overall fine product, but buyers need to know that it relies on the weight of the kayaks for its strength and stability. Rack could potentially blow around if it was empty and not fastened to the ground. Also, clearance is extremely tight for 3 kayaks, as the bottom rungs are close to the ground and to get the bottom kayak out you have to pull the kayak directly out to clear the rack completely, then lift up. This is awkward at best, and you have to be stronger than most people to do this safely without injuring yourself or damaging the kayak.

We ended up buying the freestanding kayak rack. It holds our three single kayaks perfectly! It has turned out to be very sturdy and we hope it will withstand the storms that we get here especially during tornado season. My husband built a pad for it to sit on. We absolutely love it!
