This works great. I was able to put a number to some of the loud sounds in my environment. Now I know when hearing protection should be used. Takes the guesswork out of when to use hearing protection and when you don't need it. The screen is large an easy to read. It has a max hold setting so you can see the loudest readings without having to catch it in real time. Overall, just a great tool to have. And this one works great.

I have never had a sound meter so I don't have anything to compare this to. However, it does measure the level of sound being produced. From my audio experience, I think accurately displays decibels close to what I think they should be. This will be great to use when setting up my DJ system when I use multiple speakers and amps for different parts of the listening area. Glad to have it.

I got the Decibel Meter Sound Level Reader because I'm called upon to investigate noise complaints in the building where I live, and I wanted something to back up what I heard, as well as have a baseline for what would be considered the usual noise in the building.
This meter seems to fill that bill, it's sturdy and compact, easy to hold and read, and can be slipped into your pocket if need be.
The meter itself comes with a sturdy carrying and storage case, a windshield for the actual meter, and a 9 V battery. I'm not sure why it's not rechargeable, but it's really nothing to get excited about. The meter itself features an easy-to-read screen with a four-button interface which is self-explanatory, it can be attached to a tripod with the mounting bracket on the back of the meter. Just above the mounting bracket will find a light, while not the brightest it would be sufficient to find your way in the dark if need be.
The screen itself is easy to read and features a backlight to read in low light or dark situations, the meter can be adjusted for faster or slower readings as well as allow you to hold a reading for later reference.
I tested it with another meter, and while they did not give me the same readings, they were close enough to where I consider the meter to be accurate. I think it should give reliable readings and good service.

I wanted to compare this to the one on my watch and it was slightly more accurate (or at least appears that way). It measures much faster than my watch does - and doesn't randomly turn off. So two pluses for it.
Honestly, my biggest complaint was not making it rechargeable. It came shipped with a 9V battery (which is good because I don't believe I own any of those anymore). I feel like a small battery would be awesome in here and would probably last much longer than the battery (just make sure it's USB-C).
The button labels don't make a ton of sense to me - but if you lost the manual like I did - then the top left button turns it on, to turn it off, hold the same button (pressing it turns the random flashlight on the back on).
