I messed around with this pad a bit and I got to say it has really good sound quality! It's responds well to hits but you're not going to get the realistic sound and feel like a Roland kit. For a kid it's an excellent idea as a gift and priced decently. I grabbed this for my 8 year old nephew and he was in his glory smashing away on it! Which leads me to say that it's pretty tough as well and can take a beating"¦

My 12 year old spent the last year as a percussionist in her middle school band. Prior to that, she had some really light experience playing on a child-size drum set. She has really enjoyed this drum pad so far and it been really convenient. I love that it takes up pretty much no space and can quickly and easily be put away unlike an electronic or traditional drum set. Yes, it's not really the same as either of those two options, but I think this is a reasonable stepping stone to get to one of those two. I believe that once a certain level of mastery is achieved on this pad, transitioning to an actual set won't take as long as you'd think.

My daughter liked that the app had a variety of pop/alternative songs that she was familiar with. I do wish there was more variety and options on the app like adding multiple profiles for other users. If there is a way to do it, I haven't figured it out.

Being able to use headphones is a real plus with this set, though I don't mind the sound it makes, because I think it's actually pretty decent quality. I am disappointed this company doesn't make a stand of any kind because we've currently got it set up on the coffee table and she sits on the couch while playing, which is not an ideal set up for manipulating foot pedals. Eventually, I am going to build a platform to mount onto a snare drum stand and she can sit on a drummer's stool that we already have. Hopefully that'll give her ideal positioning and comfort to play on this. In the meantime, it has been a reasonable set up to keep her happy.

This is a nice little drum set for the money. The setup was easy. It sounds great. I like the headphones, so it won't bug anyone when I play. It is a great drum set for a beginner.

This was so much fun for the kids! They're 6 years old and absolutely love that it's the right size and not too overwhelming to learn the drumming basics. As a mom, I adore the headset that prevents me from hearing it now than the tapping of the sticks instead of what they're hearing on the headphones lol.

It's easy to setup and use. The instructions are pretty clear cut. And it doesn't take up as much room as a traditional set so it fits in their playroom. Another bonus for this mama

My son loves this set and practices daily on it without being asked to.
We love this set it's electric comes with headphones and we don't have to listen to loud music while he is practicing. Especially with tenants below us it's a must!
Has some pre loaded songs on it. Record function is nice. Don't know much about performance wise or comparing to other systems but we are very pleased for a novice drum player.
Could get some accessories, speaker amplifier etc.
