My son has always been into aliens, outer space, the moon/planets ect. So for his 8th birthday we figured this would be a great gift. He LOVED it. He even uses it in his room pointed out of his window. For sure takes a bit to get the focus figured out. But once you do figure it out, it's pretty sweet.

Got my son this telescope for his birthday. He loves how detailed we can now see moon craters, etc. Tried to see Saturn hoping to see the rings but as novice users of a telescope, we haven't been able to get a good look yet. Overall for the value it's an awesome beginner telescope.

I was able to put this together pretty easily although I did check for some online videos to clarify some of the part names (a few parts are called different things). I was disappointed that this telescope did not come with a bag because that was why I picked this one. I saw another reviewer said the same thing, but I found a nice lightly padded bag to put the telescope in and I'm happy with that purchase. For my beginner self, this was a good purchase. I can see the moon pretty clearly and it did what I thought it would, and I like that I can disassemble it quickly and take it on a trip. I would warn people that are trying to take photos with their phones to not move your phone around once you get it situated in the slot because it can scratch your lens like it did mine. My Galaxy S20+ was too heavy and started slipping out of place, and I wiggled it around too much to get the right alignment again and I won't do that again. Overall, a good buy for the price.
