The screwdriver included kept slipping so I had to go find another screwdriver so I didn't strip the screws while assembling. You should also be aware you need a hammer, and they don't include one.
I think the instructions could have been a bit better. Step 1 is the most time-consuming, and part of the reason was me squinting to count holes so I could figure out which side of each board to put the screws and dowels in. I had some problems with the locking parts you put in to tighten around the screws. They were caught together during transit (about 12 of them making 6 pairs - see photo of a few of them above to see how they stuck together) and it took me easily 20 minutes just to get those apart.
Combined with the screwdriver issue, it probably took me about 30 minutes longer to assemble this than it should have. It is nice once assembled, but definitely frustrating getting there. Also, all of those locking parts go over screws, not dowels. One of the pictures makes it look like dowels, but if you've assembled comparable items, you know they work with screws.

I've been wanting a desk with extra space for quite some time now and I'm happy I was able to get this item. It was very easy to assemble, although the directions could be more clear. The only problem I have is that this item is not very sturdy at all. I had to use wood glue to keep it together, but that was an inconvenience. The wood was breaking very, very easily. I think I wouldn't have trouble snapping it in half if I tried. That being said, it's a great addition to my desk and has given me the extra space I wanted.
