If you follow the recommended instructions there shouldn't be any problem. I told my grandson that the cars could not be played with as if they were Hot Wheels. These cars are designed only for track racing.

We ordered this for our sons birthday. actually this was a replacement for a similar item. It was much more better than the previous one we have ordered however, one of the tracks was missing the aluminum contact points. Which kind of made the cars run off the tracks at high speed.
