My Bodum French Press developed a crack (not sure how long I've had it but it was several years) so I needed to buy a new one. I looked online at several review sites before settling on the Mueller. I know that some people like glass for the flavor but I wanted something that I didn't have to worry would crack. I used it for the first time this morning. I followed the instructions for a good, strong travel container (12 oz.) of coffee.

PROS: The instructions say to fill the carafe with boiling water to preheat the carafe, leaving it for 2 minutes, then emptying and drying before adding coffee. I grind my own beans, using a Bodum blade grinder, two seconds at a time for 8 seconds to produce coarse grounds. Add the coffee, pour just enough hot (now been sitting for two minutes) water, stir, wait 30 seconds, add the rest of the water, stir again. Wait four minutes and slowly plunge. The coffee was strong and very good. The carafe was easy to clean. A little less easy for the plunger.

CONS: As I believe is mentioned in other reviews, unscrewing the filter is somewhat difficult because the plunger handle and the filter assembly thread the same way, so the plunger handle starts unscrewing instead of the assembly. I had to hold tightly to the stem with my thumb and forefinger to loosen it. Bad design. Once undone, I screwed it back on more gently. I think it will be easier the next time. I did have some sediment at the very bottom of my cup, but it was much less than with my Bodum. No sediment would have made it five stars.

Overall, I'm happy with the Mueller French Press. I am hoping it will last. If not, I will update my review.

Keeps the coffee hot longer than the glass carafes. Plus, it doesn't break like glass. Easy to clean, easy to use. Only drawback is that because it's opaque, you can't see how much coffee is left in the carafe (not a deal-breaker).

This 20 oz French Press is perfectly sized and sturdy and durable! The heft of it is obvious when you first open the box! I am so very glad I bought it! I know it will last for a very long time!

I love this French press! Perfect size since i don't drink a lot of coffee. Best part about it is that it's all stainless steel! I've been on the hunt for a coffee machine/maker that is all metal with no plastic complements and this is it!

So easy to clean, comes with extra filters and doesn't burn you when there are hot liquids inside. I originally bought a $300 coffee maker, returned it for this way cheaper option and feels better quality!
