The headline says it all.
We are VERY impressed with this unit's performance right out of the box, and the size is manageable even for a smaller space. Cooled a 2-300 square foot room within minutes, and installing the exhaust hardware on a horizontally sliding window took under five minutes. This machine is a great option for people concerned with potential power outages or who regularly need to cool a large room during the daytime.
Two concerns, but not really negative points since they were more or less expected:
*The features leave a bit to be desired. The 'sleep' setting changed literally nothing noticeable. If I find something changes, I'll update the review. The other settings (and remote) are spartan, but give you the key functionality like temperature control and timer settings.
*This thing is loud on any setting! And to make matters worse, there are only two fan settings, and I noticed barely a difference between the two. If you want to use this machine to cool a bedroom or other smaller, enclosed space in the evening, I'd definitely consider other options. If sleep isn't part of the equation, this unit should be perfect for most needs.

Saved us camping!

We had a camping trip last week when it was nearly 100F and high humidity. Wasn't looking forward to being in a tent on a campground that has no body of water.
So, I ordered this little fella, it was set to arrive the night before. And it did.
...with a bunch of "RETURNED MERCHANDISE" stickers all over it, and a box that had clearly been opened previously. I was not thrilled seeing that, and was convinced this would be defective.
Despite looking like the previous person to open up the device itself was part T-Rex, all the parts were there. I cracked the condensate drain and nothing came out, so that's good. Plugged it into the garage for a test run and after a few minutes of running the fan, the A/C condenser kicked in and we had cold air. Thank the stars.
All in all, it did a wonderful job keeping out tent comfortable to sleep in at night. I wasn't too concerned about during the day as I wasn't in the tent, but it did cool that tent down even during the day. More importantly, it kept the humidity down. That's what was so helpful at night where it only got down to 80F. In the tent it was 70F with no humidity. Could not have worked better.
And that's what I plan to use it for. The odd camping trip here and there. Someday if we get a pop-up trailer, I'll use it in there too.
Seems to be a great machine, it's got a great white noise sound with the fan, and the AC condenser doesn't add any significant noise.
I am greatly bothered by any odd noises that aren't strictly white noise, and I had no issues sleeping with this thing less than 10 feet away from me.
It's a lovely machine, and I hope it lasts.

Good for small spaces

Works really good for small spaces however the exhaust tube melted?? This happened after about 2 months of having it. Now there is a hole in it and I guess I will need to get a replacement or use good ole duct tape
Exhaust runs HOT!

12,000 BTU list, box says 7,400 BTU DoE/11,500 BTU ASHRAE.
The unit ships in hassle free packaging. Look in the exhaust tube, they put accessories in there. It goes together fast, fit my vertical sliding windows just fine. The only issue with the window kit is that the exhaust adapter does not fit securely. It says you can screw it with the included screws but I'm not sure how. One doesn't line up with anything solid behind it.
Colling is great, it has been putting out around 47 degree Fahrenheit. I checked the discharge outside and it was 130! Air at the inlet of the unit is around 80 - 85. Needless to say the exhaust tube in the house puts out a lot of heat. Keep it as short as possible. Also, the adapters to the unit and window exhaust panels are not tight. A simple thing to fix with some tape. I used packing tape and it was fine, made a huge difference in keeping the exhaust out of the house. That being said, I had to put a few towels over the tube to help block some of the radiant heat.
It's run great for over a week now, and is not too loud if you compare it to a window unit. It is loud on high, but that is just how AC units seem to be. It's white noise at least.
The unit does turn off the fan once the unit hits it's set temperature. That is annoying, I wouldn't say it would be great in a bedroom if you are a light sleeper or that bothers you.
Make sure you have a bucket ready. It puts out a lot of water. I have a mop bucket that fills about every 12 hours and it's not humid. Good tip, put the catch container in another one, like a cheap plastic bin. If you don't catch it in time at least the water will not go everywhere.
So far I really like it other than the obscene amount of heat being kicked out the exhaust. I know it's working at least!

Cold & Loud!

This unit blow COLD air and cools my master bedroom fast. The window vent insert provided was to large for my window, so I shortened it with a saw to make it fit which was easy.
Pros: The unit provides audible feedback when using the remote so you know it got the signal even if you cannot see it. Set up is easy and cooling is quick.
Cons: The unit has a drain hole instead of a removeable container for built up condensation. If you cannot position the unit over a drain, you have to undo the setup to take it to a drain when full. The fan is quite loud at both high and low speeds, and cannot be set to "Always On". The sudden noise (or silence) when switching on and off has woken me a few times.
