Very useful Bike Rack & Basket

This Bike Rack and Basket combo is made with quality materials. I spent two hours getting it mounted to my bike, but then I am a bit slower than most people (and I took time to take photos). The set comes with all the parts and tools needed to do the job. I really like that the screws have lock-tight nuts, and the other screws (that are inserted into shaft receivers) have a blue lock treatment (see photo that shows this prior to tightening). These lock-tight nuts and screws will really help keep the nuts and bolts tight over time. However, the manufacturer does recommend checking everything for tightness every two weeks. I took a photo of just the rack mounted to my bike, and its nice to know that the rack can be used without the basket if wanted. As expected, the basket does rattle a bit when riding, but I solved the problem using some rubber bands. I like that this set includes two different sizes of attachment sleeves for the rack to frame supports; this makes it easy to find just the right size if you have a bike frame that tappers, as most do. I also like how both the bike seat stand connector, and rack supports, are very strong and firm. The manufacturer says it can carry a 165 pound load. I don't need to carry that much, but its nice to know its possible. The rack/basket set comes with a waterproof cover (see photo), and it has a stretch cord to secure the waterproof cover. I like this rack/basket set and I think you will too.

This basket is well thought out, and the assembly is fairly straight forward - that is if you do well with pictorial instructions. I had it assembled and on my bike in a matter of about 45 minutes. At one part in the instructions where it tells you to use 3mm screws for attaching the support rods - well it's misleading because that is incorrect information. You use the 5mm screws for that step. At any rate, it all went together fairly easily. It looks nice on the bike and doesn't interfere with brake or shifter cables.
The only thing that I did not like about this basket is that it is very small. You could carry two half gallons of milk in it and it would be full. I had imagined it would be at least twice the size that it is. For that reason, I removed it from my bike and I guess it will sit in the box in the closet.

The media could not be loaded. The bike rack is great; holds quite a bit of cargo and grocery well and is light weight. The cover and bungee is nice and secures the loads with a cover as well as add a reflective area. The storage area is quite large as well.
Note that this installs on the bike seat. It uses a clamp to hold on to the bike seat so that can be loosened and the bike seat can still be removed. Be sure to clamp it on to the bike seat otherwise it will rattle.
The installation is straight forward. I would recommend getting the impact driver and a hex set out for this. There are a couple of steps, like installing the orange tabs where the hex keys weren't doing it. Also, installing the orange tabs should be done on a desk and the rest can be done with the bike.
Also note that the rack is quite big and if you ride and dismount your bike by lifting your leg over the seat while hopping on the pedal, you might have to slightly change your technique and lift higher. First time using it my leg hit the rack but I didn't fall. Now, I'm able to get on the bike but my leg brushes the rack. Just warning to those who use this technique of mounting/dismounting.
After the installation of the rack, the bike balance I didn't feel like it changed; meaning it didn't feel heavier on the back end. The rack is light weight and doesn't add much weight. It does add some but not enough for the bike to feel significantly different.
Overall, great bike rack. Well designed and everything works well.

Perfect rear bike rack for gear & passengers. So I know it is not an approved use of this rack but it works great for ridding my 9yo or 11yo daughters behind me. It is sturdy and stable and holds their weight (60 & 65lbs) just fine. It was easy to install on my 7speed Electra beach cruiser. I like the way the railing around the basket part of the rack is constructed, there are many ways to hook bungies on to keep whatever you are carrying secure. The bungie it came with is great - it has three straps on 2 hooks that space out over your load with out having to use multiple bungies - genius & I wish I hade more for my front basket and my kids' baskets. It is easy to fold down the side rails to load a passenger. The rack is very sturdy and secure feeling while riding with my daughter on it - I do not feel any swaying or hear any creaking. She says it feels fine and she doesn't bounce around at all.
