Sweet, tart, and authentic!

ULTHMOK freeze dried passion fruit 7 oz. This came with two inner seals but no outer seal. Expiration date reads 11/2024, over a year out. Like most freeze dried snacks, these little yellow cubes are very dry and a little crumbly. They're packed with flavor and are very tangy yet mildly sweet.

The cubes do contain the seeds as well, fyi. They're similar to sunflower seeds but much easier to chew. However, they do have a tendency to get stuck in between your teeth. It doesn't bother me much but it might some people. These are great for snacking just by themselves or mixed in a salty/sweet trail mix etc. I don't know about rehydrating them and wouldn't recommend personally.

One thing to note; on the ingredients list it states: 15 calories a serving, 0 fat, and sugar isn't even listed. I think it's important to point out, especially if you're diabetic, that regular fresh passion fruit has about 26g of sugar per 1 cup serving. The freeze drying process tends to enhance the sweetness of whatever food is being used, however, in this case I would say the tang was enhanced instead.

As tasty as these are, they're not for everyone. I LOVE tart foods and even I have to stop after one or two cubes. As for the cost, 15.00 seems very overpriced for what you get. In comparison, my local store sells fresh frozen passion fruit cubes in about the same ounceage for like 5 bucks(a 3rd of the cost!)
Probably not best for tea, but interesting as snack instead.

It has a hard time dissolve quickly in water and as others commented, the seeds ruin the tea completely when wet.
However, i found it quite interesting to snack on. It's tangy, sweet and have quite interesting testure: melting in your mouth then the seeds are crunchy.

It's a bit pricey but a good amount in the jar. If I consider it some of a novalty snack instead, it makes a lot more sense.
Decent, but need a lot of the cubes for tea

So the listing seems to suggest using these to make passion fruit tea, which you can do, but you need a good size handful of them to get any kind of strong flavor that way. There are seeds in some of the freeze dried pieces, but thankfully they float on the top of the water when you make hot tea, so you can just easily fish them out with a spoon.

I've eaten a few pieces as they come in the container and they are super sweet and tart that way, almost like a candy (just have to deal with the seeds but it's not a huge problem). I actually think it would be better adding these to trail mix instead of using them for tea.
Very Tart; Love the texture of the seeds

I like eating this as a snack. I really enjoy the tart flavor - it's a great candy substitute for me because I love sour candy, sweet tarts, etc. It does taste like passionfruit, but the tart is amplified in the freeze-drying process.

The seeds are a fun crunch. I love them, but if you don't like seeds, there is no way to get away from them.

An acquired taste for sure. My passionfruit loving kid did NOT like these.
