The media could not be loaded. I drink a LOT of tea, and hot water means I have to boil a lot of it. I have a fabulous kettle that has been doing very well, but however silly, the sound of the water heating and reheating really bothers me while I'm on my zoom calls. So, I was curious how this unit would be, with the ease of having hot water at any moment, without having to wait for the kettle to boil.

The unit comes in its own box and is well packaged with foam. It is a bit over a foot high, so it's a decent size, and holds 5 liters of water. It's suggested in the accompanying leaflet (yes I actually read those!) to fill the unit up with water (to the fill line) and let it boil twice, and then discard that water, I assume to boil off any manufacturing residue. I did this, but found I needed to do another big fill / boil off, to get the water to taste clean.

But once that is done, it works amazingly well! I was a bit concerned that the water would not be hot enough for my tea, but it's great! And I love the ease of just walking to the dispenser, push the "unlock" button and then the "dispense" one, and get HOT water instantly. (be aware that the water is indeed hot. Initially I had my cup a bit too low, which means that some drops spilled on my hand and that was a bit painful. Simply raising my cup to closer below the spout stopped this from happening)

If I have to find one fault, it's that the lid, when opened, can be wiggled a little from side to side on the hinge. It does seem sturdy enough for normal, regular use.

The media could not be loaded. Overall, I'm really happy with this hot water dispenser. The instructions recommend that you fill it with 5 liters of water, boil it twice, and then dump it before using it the first time. This isn't necessarily a fast boiler. It took about 20 min to boil 5 liters. I like the steam vent on the top that's set near the back of the lid (less risk for a small child reaching up and getting burned by the steam. It's also much quieter than my electric kettle. Once the water is ready, you have to push the unlock button (it lights up when it's unlocked) before you can dispense the water. I really appreciate this safety feature since the water is so hot and could burn an unsuspecting child that is just pushing random buttons. You have to hold the dispense button down the entire time you want it to dispense. Again, a great safety feature. If you are not wanting boiling water, the machine has several temperature options. If you press the keep warm/setting button, it allows you to select what temperature you would like it to warm to and then hold. It can hold a temperature for up to 48 hours.
Overall, it's an amazing product and I'd highly recommend it.
