We have a little family of cute but randy little squirrels that hang out by our house - we are avid bird lovers so we always have full feeders, and we live on a lake so we have quite a few ducks, herons, cranes etc that stop by for snacks too. We also have a kitty who LOVES to see bird visitors and will sit in her window perches for hours watching them come right to the window to our attached feeders.

As cute as the squirrels are, keeping those adorable little monsters off of screens they climb to get to the window feeders has been a challenge. And we did get them a feeder of their own which they use, but it was only really big enough for the smaller squirrels, and when the regulars invite over the whole extended family, we have all kinds of squirrels trying all sorts of creative methods to get to the snacks which is hilarious, but also destructive to the rest of the screens and anything else that gets in the way of their food.

Enter this "nut bar" which is a bit larger than the typical squirrel feeder - little seats for 4 of our furry friends. As soon as we put this up, I immediately asked myself...why didn't we find one of these sooner??? They absolutely LOVE IT! We fill it every day since we've had it and it's empty by the end of the night LOL. They can get to it easily and so far, it has kept them away from our screens, which makes us very happy (but probably not our screen guy, who we are now on a first name basis with).

It's a sturdy little enclosure made of REAL wood - since we live in FL and it rains a lot here, we put sealant on it first to make sure it lasts. The plastic that keeps the food in and slowly pushes it down is make of hard acrylic which is perfect - they can SEE the food and go to it, but they cannot push it IN to get it all out at once. Excellent!!

There was no assembly required - comes ready to go (though I do highly recommend sealing it so rain doesn't damage it over time). It's really sturdy, and super easy to hang. And my favorite part is that...it's ABSOLUTELY adorable with it's little "The Nut Bar" sign.

We love this feeder (and so do our squirrels!) - nothing but good things to say about it. It makes a fabulous and cute gift for a friend or family member with a garden or who is an animal lover. It really does keep them occupied and you know what they say about critters - when they stay busy, they stay out of trouble :)

My screen guy may not agree since we won't be calling him every week anymore LOL but we cannot recommend this little feeder enough!!

I asked my friends if I was nuts to get this item, and of course they said yes. But I don't care. It is adorable and I really want to try to keep those squirrels away from the bird feeder! I figure if I set this up at a distant tree, they'll leave the bird food alone. My husband says I'm dreaming, but I don't care. This is a good size item, made of wood and glass, and has a sweet sign that says "Nut Bar" that you can also screw into it to make it even cuter. Doesn't seem possible, but it's true. Even cuter! I've seen these on internet posts and I just wanted to have one too. Looks well made, a good size, and the roof is easy to lift to add nuts. The front where they'd be is glass so you can keep track of the supply. My father would roll over in his grave if I knew I was actually feeding squirrels, since he spent his senior years trying to drive them OUT of the yard where we had a walnut tree. But I'm a little more humane. Can't wait to see this item in use! A+ for everything - cuteness, sturdiness, etc. Love it. Comes well-packaged, too. Good enough to gift if you've got some friends of wild critters like me!

For those who find squirrels hours of endless entertainment, this is fun feeder to put up and just watch. It is made of good solid wood and a plexiglass front. The feeder is actually quite easy to get into the top, and I may add a latch to it to not make it too easy. I know this bar has limited seating with only 4 bar stools, but everyone is getting their turn to belly up to this bar. When you pull this out of the box it comes with some screws to attach the sign at the top and some screws to mount the feeder and you done. It doesn't get much easier than that. Being made of all wood, eventually I will probably need to re-stain it to keep it looking good, but it appears that it was built fairly well and should hold up and if repairs are needed, it should be simple, lets just hope don't get a rowdy crowd and someone gets thrown through the window. This is a fun feeder and you will get enjoyment out of watching the critters on it and for the price, it is not going to break the bank.

It is adorable, and the squirrels love it. But they started chewing on the seats and bar to get to food that fell. Not sure how long this will hold up.

This is a high quality wood design and it is hilarious to see the squirrels lift the lid. I originally had it in a location too close to the bird feeder and where my dog could see the squirrels from inside the back patio door - big mistake!

I moved it to the side of the yard and it works much better there. I can watch them through the side kitchen window, and the birds have the back of the yard to themselves.
