Inexpensive, quiet, and aesthetically pleasing solution for small spaces

I bought this for the downstairs of our split level house, which we have set up as an Airbnb studio, about 500 sq ft. This dehumidifier works well to bring the humidity down in the unventilated bathroom/laundry, which makes it more comfortable for my guests, especially in fall and winter. Even though we live in the desert, the basement can get more damp than the rest of the house which makes the space feel cold.
I run it if the humidity goes over 60% and the dehumidifier can usually get it down to 50-55% in a few hours. I use a home sensor that monitors humidity in the space, so I can see the humidity go down as the humidifier is running. This screenshot of the app for the home sensor shows the humidity going down as I ran the dehumidifier after doing a couple loads of laundry.
What I like:
- It's quiet and has an option for an even quieter nighttime mode, so it doesn't disturb my guests if it's running at night
- It has an option to turn the lights off. The rotating rainbow lights are cute in the daytime, but at nighttime my guests can turn it off so they aren't sleeping in a rave
- Some dehumidifiers are so ugly, but this one is actually kind of cute and doesn't clash with the decor of the space
- It's easily portable and I can move it into the guest bedroom or bathroom depending on where I need it
Things to note:
- It doesn't seem to get the space any further below 50% humidity, but I imagine the lower the humidity gets, the harder the dehumidifier has to work to reduce the humidity, so I don't fault the dehumidifier for that.
- It does take a while to reduce humidity, but I think as long as you just use it in small spaces, it works just fine.

Small but powerful

Purchased the ToLife Dehumidifier for our new home which smelled musty from all of the mature outdoor trees close to the house. We bought the house in the summer when the humidity was high. After adding the dehumidifier, it smells and feels much more comfortable now. The compact size allows us to use it in any small space and we have it in our mudroom. It is quite easy to set up and operate. Though it is smaller than we expected, the water tank is easy to monitor the water levels and water only needs to be emptied every 4 to 5 days.
Easy and effective

My husband bought this dehumidifier after a scare with a brown recluse that ended up on our toddler's back. He researched and found out that they require a certain humidity level (also that they can be killed with vinegar) as most pesticides/sprays we use to get rid of pests are ineffective against them. This came literally the next day and was super easy to install and set up. Our kids actually enjoy it as the lights are fun for them to watch and they know it's there to keep spiders away. It's effective at removing excess moisture in the air as well, we've always had temperature/humidity thermometers throughout the house and the rim where we use the dehumidifier stays under 40% compared to 60% in the rest of our house. It's not too loud either, fairly quiet as it works.
Great for college dorm

Purchased ToLife Dehumidifier for our daughter's college dorm room. When we entered her dorm room for the first time, it was really humid and smelly. After adding the dehumidifier it feels much more comfortable now. Its compact size allows us to place it on any small surface. Easy to set up and operate. The transparent water tank allows us to monitor water levels without constantly opening the unit. Water needs to be emptied every 4 to 5 days. We like the smart auto shut-off function. Since my daughter won't be in her dorm during the day, the function prevents water overflow. The sleep mode is quiet and doesn't disturb her sleep at all. Works well for her small bedroom. There is only one thing we can think of for improvement. If the machine has a humidity display, it would be an add-on. Overall, it meets our needs and we recommend it!
This little unit pulls its weight and more

I bought this unit to dehumidify my basement after a water heater leak. It wasn't too bad, just around 20 sq ft of wet carpet and padding, but it really started to smell musty after day 2. I set the unit up in the area, pulled back the carpet and set a fan nearby, and it made a huge difference within a couple days. It is small, pretty quiet, simple to use/empty, and it pulled over a cup of water out of the air per day. At first I didn't care about the light, but found myself switching the colors some days when I went down to empty it. Carpet padding is gross and holds water forever, but it was dry in less than 2 weeks. Most importantly though, this dehumidifier kept my basement from smelling like a swamp and I will definitely keep it around for future use.
