This mitre saw is a bargain. Compared to the name brand saws, you get a lot for your money. The instructions could be better but it's fairly easy to figure it out. The dust collection also could use some improvement. Otherwise, it's rock solid. Plenty of power and the included blade is ok. Can't always say that about factory saw blades. I stuck mine on a Bora Portamate Saw Stand and am happy with the purchase.
Accurate cut

This miter saw works excellently. I do a lot of woodworking so miter saws are really helpful. Since this has a dual bevel I feel like the cute are much smoother and more accurate. It was a bit tricky to assemble though. The saw cuts through the wood swiftly and makes sure the wood is evenly distributed. I'm very happy with this miter saw. It has an excellent size and cuts through excellently.
OK with good features, and some short-comings

This has some nice features that you would expect in a sliding miter saw - like hold-down clamp (one side or the other), extension supports (though a little weak), positive stops (no fine adjustment), laser guide (that disappears when the blade is lowered), cumbersome blade changing, etc. To expand on that, the most annoying of these is the fact that the laser shows on the material until you start to drop the blade, then the blade blocks the light so you see nothing! This has to do with the placement of the laser which is on the main support behind the blade. My other saw has the laser in the blade washer so it is always visible. This tools comes with one hold down clamp so you may find yourself moving it from one side to the other - easy enough though something to consider. The extension supports are a little weak and not lined up with the surface. While the 90 degree stop seemed accurate, I have not found any adjustment on any of the miter stops. There is also no way to add any "drag' on the slide which bothers me because it moves a little too easily. There is a thumb screw lock, but in use the blade slides a little too easily. I'm not crazy about the blade changing- you need 3 hands. One to hold the guard up (unless you remove the screw like in the instructions, one to hold the spindle lock, and one to turn the wrench. This really isn't any better than my old saw, but then this is a new model so I expected something easier. The motor is rated at 1700 watts which is just shy of the maximum current draw for a 15 amp circuit. The saw came with an extra set of brushes, which makes me wonder why since I have never replaced the brushes in my chop saw which is going on 15+ years now. At the price of $300, I really don't think there is much of a bargain here because you can find similar products for about the same price, but with a warranty and possible availability of parts. Still, the saw does what it is supposed to even with the short comings.
Good for homeowner

Unboxing. Was pleasantly surprised to find the saw completely assembled. Saw was well protected by the packaging.
First impression. Very nice looking machine, looks strong and sturdy. Power cord is plenty long and appears right-sized for the job. Reasonable weight for moving around due to aluminum construction of table.
First use. Made a paper caddy for my desk, using the depth adjustment for the slots. Grey-scale manual was a bit difficult to figure out, but arrow pointed me to the general direction.
NOTE: Unless I'm missing something, the center-line of the saw-blade does cross the backstop, meaning to get the groove completely across the board, I had to use a 1in spacer.
Additionally, the depth of the cuts were not consistent, varying about 1/32". I didn't put extreme downward pressure on the saw, so not exactly sure why it happened. I'll try to do some testing to figure out weight/deflection specs.
Overall impression. I like the saw, for a casual woodworker, I think this fits the bill.
Pros. Fully assembled, sturdy construction, good safety protection, included accessories.
Cons. Manual leaves a lot to be desired. Black lines pointing to black objects with a black background virtually worthless. A colored manual would be much more helpful. The website www.dovaman.com looks half started and only has 3 circular saws on it, no documentation for the miter saw on site.
