This Little Tikes Turtle Sandbox is the same one that's been available for decades. I didn't have one, but it seems like they lived by the mantra "If it ain't broke, don't fix it", and kept it pretty much the same. No new technology or gimmicks here.
Assembly is required and most of the pieces click together easily. Getting the last base and last top pieces, respectively, in place take a little maneuvering as they connect to both sides. Only takes about 20 minutes as the instructions state. Speaking of the instructions, they are really well written and easy to understand.
Assembled, you have the base, lid, and a small tether to keep the lid attached. It will hold 100-150 lbs of play sand and the lid helps keep it clean and dry if kept installed during non-use. The base unit is sturdy and should hold up to a few 40-50 lb kids for a few years.
This iconic sandbox is smaller than I remember, but it is a fun design that our girls will love for years to come.

This is such a cute turtle sand box, was easy to put together, didn't come with the head but got in contact with them and they sent me a whole new unit, I sent the other back and in just two days got the new one. So thankful. And my daughter loves it so much.
